Revonda Roberts & Harvest Wind is a six member, North Carolina based bluegrass gospel group. They perform all original material written by the band members Revonda & Justin Bowles. They have an eclectic mix of material which has earned this group two Dove Award Nominations and a 2008 SPBGMA (Society For The Preservation of Bluegrass Music Association) nomination for Bluegrass Gospel Group of The Year in the contemporary category. Their 2009 schedule is full and they are pushing into overdrive with the 2010 season swiftly approaching.

Their new album 'Stillwater' is a collection of original material, offering something for everyone. From the opening song, 'Wicked Man', you can tell that you are in for a ride with this album. Revonda's lead vocal has powerful bluegrass punch and then she sings with such a silky smooth on vocal on several of the ballads written especially for this album. The entire band has a definite feel for the music and the harmonies are what every blue grasser could hope for and the band truly delivers.



Band Members Include:

REVONDA B. ROBERTS

The clear, natural and powerful bluegrass voice of Revonda Roberts is the driving force behind the band. Revonda was born in Bethesda, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C. Since she is a fourth generation musician, bluegrass music was always a part of her life. Her musical background coupled with her mother's singing and songwriting simply led Revonda to follow in her ancestor's footsteps and continue her family's heritage. Not only does Revonda play fiddle, but she plays, piano, upright bass, drums, guitar and clarinet.  With Revonda's love of music and songwriting and her husband's encouragement she began to use her God given talents for Lord. She writes many of the songs for group and most of all enjoys sharing God's Love thru music with friends and fans alike.


JUSTIN BOWLES

Justin is a fifth generation musician and the bands guitar player.  He is also an accomplished songwriter
having penned "Sunrise On A Sunday Morning" which landed on the charts.  Justin writes with Revonda Roberts many of the songs that the group performs. He also enjoys playing the banjo and does a great job performing.  Among his many talents, Justin gives private music lessons for guitar and banjo. His hobbies include hunting, riding his four-wheeler, playing music and traveling with the band.


LONNIE ROBERTS

Lonnie, pastor of a local church, plays mandolin with the group. You can always count on Lonnie to be consistent and his voice rounds out their four-part harmony.  Lonnie also plays other instruments, but the mandolin is his favorite.  He also handles setting up of the group's sound equipment


BRANDON ROWE

Brandon, with a winning personality, ambition and drive, is the band's banjo player.  He also plays guitar.  Brandon also sings harmony with the group.


AMANDA TORRENCE

Excellent tone and timing on the bass , Amanda plays bass for the group. She has been around bluegrass music all her life going shadowing her dad while he played churches and festivals all over the United States. She has been performing for many years and enjoys playing with the group.


JAMES TORRENCE

James, a native of  Banner Elk, NC, plays mandolin for the group.  Growing up with Bluegrass greats as his role models has certainly been a blessing to James.  He has played as a staff musician at the old Opry Land Park in Nashville TN and now enjoys his role with group playing mandolin and singing harmony.
